Relationship Marketing Panel

How to combat the rising influence of the "robo" adivsor in our changing world? Why is relationship building more important than selling? How do we facilitate that through providing value, education, and staying top of mind? By utilizing seminar marketing to gain new prospects, provide value and presenting yourself as an educator in your community.

It is said that 90% of financial advisors fail in their careers, and the amount of CPAs in the nation declines every year. A large reason is because of the lack of clients. The tools available in today's market place are extensive, choosing the correct path can set you apart from teh others in your industry. The key to success isn't just picking the right method, it is picking a method that is scalable.

Panelists: Andrew Saksa  (moderator), Brad Swineheart, & Brian Smith from Reminder Media & Affiliates come together for this informative panel.

The growing volume of those aging in to Medicare means that today’s successful planner will understand the basic needs of clients in this demographic and be prepared to offer expert Medicare resources that can help guide them through the complex world of insurance plan selection to protect both their personal and financial health.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the basics of how Medicare works
  • Teach advisors how to identify who may benefit from Medicare information and enrollment advice
  • Outline key resources to help manage your client’s health insurance costs

Speakers: Lindsey Carlson & Kevin Peterson from Connexion Insurance Solutions

"Hidden Wealth: Unlocking Home Equity for Retirement Planning"

Elderly homeowners own $7 Trillion in home equity and many are struggling with a financial plan to fully fund their lifetime expenses, but financial advisors often overlook this hidden wealth. Why? In this 1-hour presentation, we take a deep dive into the federally-insured Home Equity Conversion Mortgage (HECM) to understand how it can improve the retirement plans of clients, protect against longevity risk, be optimized to fit with client goals, and to do so in an ethical and compliant manner. Home equity is one of the biggest sources of assets for clients, and the HECM is a federally-insured program that can unlock this hidden wealth in a safe and standardized manner.

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn statistics of financial wealth vs total wealth for American seniors
  • Review changes to Home Equity Conversion Mortgage (HECM) program from 2013 –2017 to strengthen consumer protections
  • Understand core foundation of HECM including qualification, ongoing requirements, consumer protections, disbursement of funds, credit line growth, and settlement.
  • Demonstrate impact of HECM funds for retirement planning and estate planning
  • Apply HECM strategies using web-based learning tool for 3 case studies
  • Adhere to compliance considerations of when and how to present a reverse mortgage

Speaker: Allen Chao from Longbridge Financial
